To all our customers who have visited our stall at the Great Dorset Steam Fair over the last almost 30 years the organisers of the show have decided that there is to be no autojumble section this year. The autojumble will be sadly missed and I would like to thank all of our past customers from the show. Lets hope this is not the beginning of the end of a very good event.
G and M Tools is a small friendly company specializing in the sale of machine tools, hand tools and all types of workshop equipment.
Since the formation of the company in 1987 the partners, Tim Muddle and Antony “Digger” Gardner, have endeavoured to supply high quality equipment at a fair price, extending from hand tools up to machine tools for engineering and woodworking.
Our continuing policy is to offer a large range of good quality used machine tools for both professional and model engineers and woodworkers.
Add to that the huge range of machine tooling, hand tools and workshop equipment and you will see that we can offer a one stop service for the discerning tradesman and amateur.
Our backgrounds are similar, both being local and having an interest in tools and trades. Tims’ family have traded at our present address since 1897 as corn merchants and provender millers.
The partnership was formed when Tim’s father decided to cease trading as corn merchants. This allowed us to utilise this excellent site.
Starting with 80 square metres, we later expanded to take over the whole site. With an overhead gantry crane we are able to move machines in and out of our building with ease and safety.
The partners, Tim and Digger, are both avid collectors of old tools. Tim spends much of his free time exploring the world on his mountain bike and has recently enjoyed trips to Crete, France and Nepal. Digger enjoys sharing time with his large family as well as maintaining his interest in clocks, woodworking tools and book collecting.
We try to maintain a relaxed atmosphere at our showrooms, offering customers the chance to wander amongst the stock without being pestered by salesmen. We are always on hand to answer questions and help with queries.
Why not pay us a visit… the most commonly heard expression we hear as customers enter is “Wow, its like Aladdins Cave”
